Madame Sunshine Lim is a business leader who wears many hats. Based in Cebu, she is a known businesswoman and community leader with a hand in many different industries.
Her family runs the Santo Niño Mactan Montessori School and Santo Niño Mactan College. But her work does not stop at schools; she also manages Travel Care (a travel agency), Chill Cafe (a restaurant), and a furniture export business called Heritage Export.
She is just as active outside of the office as she is inside it. Sunshine spends a lot of time volunteering and leading civic groups. She serves as the District Chairperson for the Inner Wheel Clubs of the Philippines under District 386. On top of that, she is also handling the Committee on Education for the Philippine Air Force and sits on the advisory council of the Aviation Security Unit Region VII. She is also a leader in the local hospitality scene with the Hotel Resort Restaurant Association of Cebu Inc. (HRRACI) as the VP for Restaurant.
When asked how she manages such a busy schedule, Sunshine keeps it simple: it’s all about time management and knowing how to prioritize. She believes in trusting her team and delegating tasks, always reminding people that her success is a group effort, not a solo act.
One of her proudest achievements is helping others build their futures. Sunshine has worked hard to set up scholarship programs with the Taiwan government. Through these programs, there are around 300 Filipino scholars in Taiwan.
When things get tough, Sunshine relies heavily on her support system, especially her husband, Charles. Lim also added that she is not afraid to ask professionals for advice and has a great outlook on setbacks. She does not see them as failures; instead, she calls them “learning investments,” proving that positive attitude is key to her success.
