GOING BEYOND GROCERY DELIVERY: CloudKart launches concierge, and B2B procurement services

CEBU, PHILIPPINES Cebu-based CloudKart is expanding beyond its roots as a pandemic-era grocery delivery service, rolling out new procurement and concierge solutions as it targets growing demand for convenient purchasing among consumers and businesses.

The company on Saturday,June 20, 2026, unveiled a suite of new services, including a concierge shopping platform and an expanded business-to-business procurement offering, as it seeks to deepen its presence in the rapidly evolving digital commerce landscape outside Metro Manila.

“CloudKart is not just an online grocery anymore,” CloudKart President and Chief Executive Officer Franco B. Soberano said during the company’s product launch in Cebu. “We’ve been innovating, we’ve been expanding, and we’re building solutions that address both consumer and business needs.”

Founded during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic by Cebuano entrepreneurs Lery Chik and John Jay Yuvallos and partners, CloudKart emerged as a response to mobility restrictions and the growing demand for contactless grocery delivery.

What began as a necessity-driven service has since evolved into one of Cebu’s established premium e-commerce platforms serving Cebu City, Mandaue City, Lapu-Lapu City, Talisay City and Consolacion.

The company’s next phase of growth centers on providing value-added services that go beyond traditional online retailing.

Among the latest offerings is CloudKart Concierge, a personalized shopping assistance service designed for consumers who prefer to outsource product sourcing and order consolidation. Customers can submit shopping lists through messaging platforms such as Facebook Messenger and Viber, allowing CloudKart’s procurement team to source items, verify availability and prepare consolidated orders for customer approval before delivery.

The service reflects an industry trend in which e-commerce operators are increasingly differentiating themselves through personalized assistance rather than competing solely on price.

CloudKart is also strengthening its corporate segment through CloudKart B2B, a procurement platform that enables businesses to source office supplies, pantry requirements, cleaning materials, corporate giveaways, appliances, hardware products and relief goods through a single channel.

According to Soberano, the service leverages an extensive supplier network to simplify procurement processes while helping clients secure competitive pricing and reduce administrative costs.

The expansion comes as Philippine companies increasingly embrace digital procurement solutions to improve operational efficiency amid rising costs and supply chain complexities.

Another new offering, CloudQuote, allows customers to request products not currently listed on the platform. CloudKart’s sourcing team taps its supplier network to locate requested items, negotiate prices and provide quotations before fulfillment, effectively expanding the platform’s inventory beyond its standard catalog.

The strategy positions CloudKart less as a conventional online marketplace and more as a sourcing ecosystem capable of handling specialized purchasing requirements.

To support its growth ambitions, the company continues to invest in logistics and fulfillment capabilities, including same-day delivery services for verified orders placed before 4 p.m.

Soberano, whose family invested in CloudKart in 2023 as pandemic restrictions eased and traditional retail activity normalized, said the company remains focused on convenience as its primary value proposition.

“As consumers become busier and businesses look for more efficient ways to procure goods, convenience becomes increasingly valuable,” he said.

CloudKart’s merchant network includes Cebu-based brands such as La Carne and Prutasan ni Adan, alongside national brands including Samsung. The platform’s product portfolio spans groceries, fresh produce, meat and seafood, electronics, home essentials, pet care products, school supplies and lifestyle items.

The company’s expansion reinforces how regional e-commerce players are carving out niches through localized logistics, procurement expertise and personalized customer service—areas where national and international platforms often struggle to replicate local market knowledge.

For CloudKart, the shift signals a significant evolution from its origins as a pandemic-era grocery delivery service into a diversified commerce platform seeking to become a one-stop procurement partner for consumers and enterprises in Cebu and potentially across the Philippines.
