CEBU CITY, PHILIPPINES — Preparations are now underway for the Cebu City Mass Wedding in September, with 130 couples set to benefit from the city’s annual program promoting stronger families and accessible marriage opportunities for Cebuanos.
According to Cebu City Women and Family Affairs Director Maricar Bontuyan, interested couples may now start inquiring and preparing their documents, as slots are limited.
Marking its eighth year of partnership, Cebu-rooted jewelry brand DiaGold on Monday renewed its commitment as the official wedding ring sponsor of the event. This year, the celebration also gets an added boost with Savoy Hotel Mactan Newtown joining as a new partner, offering lucky couples a chance to win a 3-day, 2-night honeymoon stay.
DiaGold Chief Operating Officer Jennifer Ty said the partnership goes beyond corporate social responsibility, describing it as a personal commitment rooted in the company’s Cebuano identity.
“Every couple, no matter what circumstances they are in, deserves to have a simple forever that they can always be proud of,” Ty said.
She shared that over the past eight years, nearly 850 Cebuano households have received DiaGold wedding rings as a daily reminder of their vows. She added that the partnership is not only about weddings, but also about helping build stronger families in Cebu.
Meanwhile, DiaGold President Harry John Ty said the company remains focused on what it can give to couples and the community, regardless of political changes. He stressed that their goal is to continue supporting the city government’s program and sustain the partnership in the years ahead.
Ty also highlighted the company’s family-centered advocacy, noting that DiaGold regularly supports outreach programs such as Children’s Haven, where they provide assistance not only for physical needs but also for values formation and spiritual guidance.

Interested couples who still wish to join may visit the Cebu City Local Civil Registrar’s Office for registration. Requirements include PSA birth certificates, PSA CENOMAR, barangay residency certificate, cedula, valid IDs, and a marriage counseling certificate. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and residents of Cebu City. Additional documents may be required for live-in partners, widows or widowers, and applicants aged 18 to 24.
