PBBM announces big time oil price rollback

CEBU CITY, PHILIPPINES — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has announced a significant rollback in fuel prices set to take effect on Tuesday, April 14, offering much-needed relief to consumers grappling with rising oil costs.

In a video message posted on his official Facebook page, Marcos said diesel prices will drop by more than ₱20.89 per liter. Gasoline prices will decrease by ₱4.43 per liter, while kerosene will be reduced by ₱8.50 per liter.

The President emphasized that the rollback will provide substantial relief to public utility drivers, commuters, and Filipino families who have been struggling with the impact of high fuel prices on transportation and daily expenses.

“Malaking tulong ito lalo na sa ating mga drivers, sa mga commuter, at sa bawat pamilyang Pilipino na araw-araw naapektuhan ng mataas na presyo ng krudo,” the President said.

Despite the rollback, the Chief Executive acknowledged that the price cuts are not enough to fully ease the burden on households, assuring the public that the government will continue implementing measures to cushion the impact of high living costs.

“Hindi pa ito sapat, kaya tuloy-tuloy ang ginagawa ng inyong pamahalaan para maibsan ang epekto nito sa inyong pang-araw-araw na buhay,” he added.

Marcos also revealed that additional government interventions and assistance programs will be announced in the coming days and weeks to further support Filipinos.

He reiterated the administration’s commitment to lowering expenses related to transportation, food, and overall living costs, stressing that efforts will continue until tangible relief is felt by every Filipino family.

The government, he said, remains focused on ensuring that no Filipino is left behind amid ongoing economic challenges.
